Försöker förstå mig på amerikanska presidentvalet eftersom jag behöver mental distraktion för tillfället. Saker och ting går inte som jag önskar att de gjorde och det känns jävligt pissigt. Men eftersom jag inte kan ändra på sakerna och situationerna i sig så återstår bara makten att ändra hur jag ser på dem. Och jag väljer att betrakta dem som svåra saker som jag inte kan ta ställning till för tillfället.

Så. Jag läser på om bland annat republikanen Ron Paul. Och det är ju för spännande läsning. Att försöka förstå sig på hur man ens försöker börjar laga och förbättra ett land så ur kurs som USA. Och Ron Paul är en intressant figur att studera, vad han tycker USA behöver. Vi tittar lite på hans främsta punkter från hans egna valsida, som jag därmed avläser som viktigast för honom.

“As a congressman, Ron Paul has never once voted for any piece of legislation that would infringe on gun owners’ rights or weaken the Second Amendment. The inalienable right to keep and bear arms is not only essential to a free society, but it is the guardian of every other right.”

Pro life
”Dr. Paul’s experience in science and medicine only reinforced his belief that life begins at conception, and he believes it would be inconsistent for him to champion personal liberty and a free society if he didn’t also advocate respecting the God-given right to life—for those born and unborn.  And as President, Ron Paul will continue to fight for the same pro-life solutions he has upheld in Congress, including: Defining life as beginning at conception by passing a “Sanctity of Life Act.”

Och så vill han sänka skatterna. Men anledningen till att jag började kolla upp Paul är för att jag såg på en debatt där han argumenterade för att USA måste sluta agera världspolis. Börja bete sig mot andra länder som USA själva vill att andra länder ska behandla dem. Han tog upp poängen att de har mördat så många hundratusentals människor och att det fortfarande pågår, och att ingen ska tappa hakan över att deras friheternas land är ogillat. Att de skapat en spiral och kan nu inte ta hand om sitt egna land. För att de bett om hat det när de gått runt och lagt sig i hur andra länder sköter sig, med väldigt kontraproduktiva metoder. Han skriver även om det på sin valsida under kategorin National Defense.

Taxpayers are forced to spend billions of dollars each year to protect the borders of other countries, while Washington refuses to deal with our own border security needs.

Congress has been rendered virtually irrelevant in foreign policy decisions and regularly cedes authority to an executive branch that refuses to be held accountable for its actions.

Far from defeating the enemy, our current policies provide incentive for more to take up arms against us.

That’s why, as Commander-in-Chief, Dr. Paul will lead the fight to:

* Make securing our borders the top national security priority.

* Avoid long and expensive land wars that bankrupt our country by using constitutional means to capture or kill terrorist leaders who helped attack the U.S. and continue to plot further attacks.

* Guarantee our intelligence community’s efforts are directed toward legitimate threats and not spying on innocent Americans through unconstitutional power grabs like the Patriot Act.

* End the nation-building that is draining troop morale, increasing our debt, and sacrificing lives with no end in sight.”

Det tyckte jag lät rätt uppfriskande. Sen vill han även gå ur NATO, vilket är väldigt.. democrat, right? Commerce with all nations, ally with none. Han vill även på ur WTO (World Trade Organization) med anledning: “In reality, the WTO is the third leg of the globalists’ plan for a one-world, centrally-managed economic system. The intention behind the creation of the WTO was to have a third institution to handle the trade side of international economic cooperation, joining two institutions created by Bretton Woods, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. For the United States to give up any bit of its sovereignty to these unelected and unaccountable organizations is economic suicide.”

Det hela är mycket spännande. Han vill dra tillbaka Amerikas fingrar ur alla kakskålar, gå ur flera organisationer som gör dem beroende/allierar dem med tredjeparter och övriga länder samt stänga gränserna. Upphäva och möblera om fundamentalt i invandringspolitiken som Obama drivit. Allt detta inpackat i en rejäl dosa religion. Såhär skriver han om den.

I’m running for President of the United States because I believe that our traditions and way of life are under attack from an out-of-control federal government and reckless politicians who show no regard for what our Founders entrusted to our protection.
